I’ve designed three sizes of Applez – 4”, 6” and 8” blocks. They all have a stalk but you then have the choice of adding one or two leavez to give your applez that fresh picked look. Piecing is easy with no matching of points and no perfect quarter inch seams necessary.

Sample size - 56 1/2“ x 56 1/2“ (144cm x 144cm)
Green applez – 3/4 yd (70 cm) of assorted green prints
Green applez backgrounds – 2 1/2 yds (2.3 m) of assortedpink prints
Pink applez – a 4” square of three pink prints
Pink apple backgrounds – fat quarter of a white solid
Block borders – small pieces of three black & white prints
Leavez – 2/3 yd (60 cm) of assorted green prints
Stalkz – fat eighth of a black solid
Inner Border – 1/4 yd (20 cm) of a black & white stripe
Outer border – 3/4 yd (70 cm) of assorted orange prints
Binding – 1/3yd (30 cm) of a yellow print
also needed; batting, backing and thread

With freeform blocks like this, fabric requirements will vary from quilt to quilt. I give you minimums only. Be generous with your purchases as extra can always be used in the backing.
