Basketz Quilt Pattern PDF
Stargazey patterns give you permission to make something beautiful without needing to be perfect
Continuing my experimentation with traditional blocks, it’s time to look at the very popular basket block. As usual my version is crooked and made with my easy loose cutting and piecing techniques to enable you to put your stamp on it.
Design your quilt to suit you - the sample is only the starting point. I give you the “recipe” for 4”, 6”, 8”, 10” & 12” blocks as merely the base to create from, so any size block, any size quilt, or any combination can work. My sample uses all sizes. Handlez here are appliqued by hand - which is time consuming but gives a neat result. Yours could be machined stitched.
Fabrics may be bright and mixed like mine or based on a single background colour to tone the look down. Country check basketz or flower basketz would both be good starting points for a fabric theme.
