Xmas Treez Quilt Pattern PDF

Where would Christmas be without a tree and presents? Now you can gift as many trees as you'd like! This quilt is also great for a seasonal wallhanging or, if using a smaller block, a runner or cushion. Don't forget, creating it for yourself is the best self-care present you could give.

For those a little jaded with the traditional red and green colouration I’ve stitched quirky hot pink Xmas Treez wrapped happily in golden tinsel.

The blocks are made as rectangles, 4” x 8”, 6” x 12”, and 8” x 16” – with their length double their width. They could be embellished with buttons, beads and charms in an overblown style if that suits. They could have ribbons or rick rack inserted or appliqued. 

The Prezziez block adds to the theme. They're even easier than the Xmas Treez to piece, if that is possible. These 4”, 6” and 8” blocks are also designed to be played with. Consider adding name tags, button and bead embellishment or real ribbons.

FABRIC REQUIREMENTS

This PDF quilting pattern includes full fabric requirements, cutting instructions and step-by-step assembly guidance. You may customise it to your desired quilt size.

Sample size – 52” x 57 1⁄2” (132 cm x 146 cm)
Block backgrounds – 1 3⁄4 yds (1.6 m) of an orange print
Block backgrounds – 4yds (3.75m) of assorted green fabrics
Treez, Prezziez, ribbonz and tinsel – 2 1⁄2 yds (2.3 m) of assorted bright prints
Trunkz – fat eighth or scraps of assorted purple prints
Small block border – 1⁄3 yd (30 cm) of a busy green print
Inner border – 1⁄4yd (25 cm) of pink fabric
Outer border & binding – 1 yd (1 m) of a green print
Also needed: backing, batting, and thread.

With free-form blocks like this, fabric requirements will vary from quilt to quilt. The amounts given are minimums only. Be generous with your purchases, as any extra fabric can always be used in the backing.
