Butterfliez Quilt Pattern PDF

Nature lovers delight as a crooked collection of Butterfliez fly your way! First to fly in was Butterfliez but Mothz also gathered around the flame of inspiration so I’ve given you instructions for both blocks.

Each can be made in four sizes; 4”, 6”, 8” and 10”. My sample uses a variety of both in most sizes. You will be designing them without templates, as they are cut in the usual Stargazey style from squares and rectangles. Each crooked creature is unique. Making them is addictive.

This is a great pattern to use up your wildest prints in the wingz and the biggest stripes in the body. Come spread your creative wingz with me!

FABRIC REQUIREMENTS

This PDF quilting pattern includes full fabric requirements, cutting instructions and step-by-step assembly guidance. You may customise it to your desired quilt size.

sample size - 42” x 58” (107cm x 147cm)
Backgrounds - 3 1/4yds (3 m) of assorted subtlely printed blues
Butterfliez, (wingz & bodiez) - 1 1/4yds (1 m) of assorted loud brights
Butterfliez borders, (& quilt inner border) - 1 1/2 yds (1.3 m) of assorted blacks
also needed;
backing, batting & thread

With freeform blocks like this, fabric requirements will vary from quilt to quilt. I give you minimums only. Be generous with your purchases as extra can always be used in the backing
