The cupcake is a favourite image for many - young, young at heart, foodies and sweet-tooths generally. Just like the consuming of them, stitching them is yummy fun too. The cutting and stitching of the blocks is so very easy. Cupcakez can then be decorated to your sweet-hearts delight.
I have simply stitched on buttons and rickrack but a look at any of the cupcake cookbooks around and you will be inspired to out-ice me. I have designed the blocks in three sizes; 4”, 6” and 8”.......

FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
This PDF quilting pattern includes full fabric requirements, cutting instructions and step-by-step assembly guidance. You may customise it to your desired quilt size.
Sample size - 57” x 57” (145cm x 145cm)
Backgrounds - 4 yds (3.7m) of assorted tone-on-tone prints (or 36 x 12” squares)
Paper casez - 2/3yd (60cm) of assorted striped fabrics
Cakez - 1 yd (90cm) of assorted solids
Inner Border - 1/8 yd (25cm) each of a two solids
Outer Border & binding- 60” (1.5m) of a solid cut up the lengthwise grain (use excess in the backing)
also needed; rickrack - 6” per block ( total of 6yds/5 1/2 m) buttons - 36
batting, backing and thread
With freeform blocks like this, fabric requirements will vary from quilt to quilt. I give you minimums only. Be generous with your purchases as extra can always be used in the backing.
