Teapotz Quilt Pattern PDF

We have long needed a companion to the very popular Cuppaz – here it is - though I had a few design dilemmas with this one! Teapots come in all shapes and sizes and I had ideas for quite a few. My decision was to keep them contained within a square....if I had chosen a traditionally rounded teapot the blocks would have been rectangular and therefore harder to join together as a top.

Techniques are of the usual Stargazey easy cutting and stitching variety, giving each block its crooked individuality. Every piece is cut simply from a square or rectangle. Teapotz can be made in three block sizes; 6”, 8” and 10” to tie in with the Cuppaz proportions.

In my sample I have used all three sizes in a medallion setting, but for my next teapotz foray I will definitely combine them with my Cuppaz pattern!

FABRIC REQUIREMENTS

This PDF quilting pattern includes full fabric requirements, cutting instructions and step-by-step assembly guidance. You may customise it to your desired quilt size.

sample size – 42” x 42” (107 cm x 107 cm)
Backgrounds & binding – 3 yds (2.5 m) of assorted colours
Teapotz, lidz, handlez & binding – 1 1/2 yds (1.5 m) of assorted colours
Borders - 1/2 yd (50cm) of assorted blacks
also needed; batting, backing, thread and a variety of buttons to cap off the lids.

With freeform blocks like this, fabric requirements will vary from quilt to quilt. I give you minimums only. Be generous with your purchases as extra can always be used in the backing.
