These letters originally arrived in stamped envelopes with glossy, printed photos (remember those days!). To protect our writers' privacy, we've typed up their notes with minor details changed. We also scanned and brightened the original photos so you can see the quilts in their best light.

A kindy quilt with a fearsome dinosaur!

Wendy from Western Australia shares her dinosaur quilt from the Patching by the Park workshop, along with news from a spectacular quilt exhibition in Japan.

Dear Jan,

I finished my dinosaur from 'Patching by the Park.' I was really happy with the result. I sent it to the kindy - I hope they like it.

I have just returned from Japan. We went to the quilt exhibition in Yokohama, 'Quilts Down Under Japan.' They gave us afternoon tea and displayed some of their quilts. One of the teachers mentioned your name, so I took her photo with the quilts she made with you. I said I would send them on with her best wishes.

What a wonderful trip it was and the exhibition was incredible.

A small quilt with an orange dotted border. The centre block is a picture of an abstract dinosaur with spikes and white bobbles for teeth
