These letters originally arrived in stamped envelopes with glossy, printed photos (remember those days!). To protect our writers' privacy, we've typed up their notes with minor details changed. We also scanned and brightened the original photos so you can see the quilts in their best light.

Free & eazy tea

Kathy from Maine, USA shares a sweet teacup project, made as a special gift for her daily "phone tea" friend.

Jan,

My husband picked me up a copy of your Free & Easy Circles. Because my friend and I have 'phone tea' every day since we can't always get together, I made her the circle and teacup.

I'm new to this art and I thought it turned out well. I also like to show off some of my crafts by putting them on cards. Just wanted you to see what I made.

A square fabric art print or card featuring a colorful patchwork-style teacup illustration with the words 'A CUP OF Tea' written above it on a white background.

Kathy created this wonderfully unique piece inspired by Jan's book, Free & Eazy Circles and the Cuppaz pattern

The beautiful example shown below is featured in the book. It was created by one of Jan Mullen’s students:
